Privacy Policy

1. Information You Provide

Redo allows you to capture, import, organize, and review your own study materials and mistake records. Your mistake records and review history are stored in a local SQLite database, and cropped JPEG copies of selected question images are stored in Redo’s app storage on your device.

Redo creates a local image copy during the capture flow, before the full mistake record is saved. If you leave the capture flow, replace an image, or a save fails, an unused image copy may remain in Redo’s app storage. Image selection and cropping may also create temporary files in app cache or temporary storage, which are managed and cleared by the operating system on its own schedule.

Redo does not upload your questions or question images to Redo servers. Depending on your device settings, local app data may be included in device backups managed by iOS or Android.

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address and information you choose to include in your message so that we can respond to your question, bug report, privacy inquiry, or feedback.

2. Camera and Photo Library

Redo requests camera access only when you choose Take Photo. When you choose an existing image, Redo opens the system image picker and receives the image you select. Depending on your platform and settings, the system may ask for photo library access.

Redo creates a cropped local copy for your mistake record and does not modify the original image in your photo library. Redo does not use camera or photo access for advertising purposes.

3. Analytics

Redo sends limited product usage events when a mistake is created or deleted, when a redo attempt is started or completed, and when a mistake is marked as mastered.

Each event contains the event type, a randomly generated installation identifier, the app version, and the platform. Our service adds an event record identifier and a server timestamp. The random installation identifier is stored on your device and allows us to understand that a series of events came from the same app installation. Redo does not require an account, and this identifier is not an advertising identifier or hardware device identifier.

These events do not contain your questions, question images, answers, notes, topic, mistake type, paper name, question number, file paths, or account information. We use them to understand product usage, identify problems, and improve Redo. The current version does not include a separate analytics opt-out setting.

Redo uses Tencent CloudBase cloud-function and PostgreSQL infrastructure to receive and store these limited events. The Redo analytics event record does not store your IP address or request headers. Infrastructure providers may process standard connection data, such as an IP address or User-Agent, when delivering and securing network requests.

4. How We Use Information

We use information as necessary to:

• provide Redo’s core capture, storage, review, and reminder features on your device;
• display and manage the study records you save locally;
• understand limited product usage, diagnose problems, and improve reliability and product experience;
• respond to support, privacy, and feedback messages; and
• operate and protect the services and infrastructure used by Redo.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

Service providers may process limited information on our behalf when necessary to provide their services. These include Tencent CloudBase for the analytics API and database infrastructure, Cloudflare for hosting this website, and the email service used to receive support messages. Service-provider processing for hosting, security, support, and product analytics is not a sale of data.

Redo does not send your study content to the analytics service. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of Redo, our users, or others.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete an individual mistake from its detail screen. This removes the mistake record and its review history from Redo’s local database, and Redo attempts to remove the associated local image copy. It does not delete the original image from your photo library.

Deleting an individual mistake does not necessarily remove an unused image copy that is not associated with a saved record, or temporary picker and cropper files managed by the operating system. Those temporary files may remain until the operating system clears them.

Reset All Data is designed to remove local mistake and review records, attempt to remove all Redo-managed question images, cancel scheduled Redo reminders, and reset notification settings. It does not remove the local analytics installation identifier or delete product usage events already sent to our service.

Deleting the app normally removes Redo’s local app container from that device. However, local app data may be included in backups managed by iOS or Android and may be retained or restored according to your device and backup settings. Uninstalling Redo does not delete product usage events previously sent to our service.

Limited analytics records and support messages are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for product analysis, support, security, and applicable legal obligations. We do not currently promise a fixed retention period. The current app does not include an in-app mechanism for deleting server-side analytics records.

You may contact us with a privacy or deletion request. Because Redo has no user accounts and analytics events use a random installation identifier, we may be unable to associate particular analytics records with you unless sufficient identifying information is available.

7. Tracking

We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

This website does not include third-party analytics or advertising scripts, and the site code does not set cookies.

8. Children’s Privacy

Redo is a general-purpose education and study tool. It is not designed exclusively for children and is not presented as a Kids Category app. Redo does not require users to create an account. Parents or guardians with questions about a child’s use of Redo may contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Redo, our practices, or applicable requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date on this page. Where appropriate, we may also provide notice in the app or on this website.
